PARKS AND TRAILS
Tadoussac's magnificent environment spurred the creation
of two parks: a federal one, the Saguenay - St-Lawrence
marine Park and another federal-provincial one, the
Saguenay Park. The mission of both parks is to protect
the land and maritime ( Marine Park ) environment for
future generations.
To access to some trails of park Saguenay, you'll
need an autorisation ( 1-877-272-5229.)
MARINE
PARK OF THE SAGUENAY - SAINT-LAURENT
The
marine park includes/understands a whole part of the
Saguenay River thus started from the St. Lawrence, of
Cape-with-l'Aigle in Escoumins. Cold and salted water
ocean Atlantique makes surface and creates a medium
rich in krill (shrimps) and capelans (small fish), food
of choice of the whales.
Main
goal of the marine Park of Saguenay - the St. Lawrence
east to preserve the richness of this ecosystem as complex
as fragile for the present generations and future.

THE
SAND DUNES:
The
activities of the Saguenay Park at Tadoussac take place
in three areas: the sand dunes or Moulin Baude, Pointe
de l'Islet or on the terrace in front of the Hotel Tadoussac.
The
Sand Dunes of Tadoussac are certainly one of the
most beautiful part of Tadoussac. Here was the first
village, now disappeared . The white pine forest covering
the plateau was all cut down to feed the mill and the
farms were established on the newly lumbered land. But
the topsoil was very thin and now it's a desert.
In 40's years, there was a special sport at the dunes
the Sand Skiing. Until 1984, there were a lost of competition
, with people from everywhere.
In 1984, the Park sahuenay buy the dunes and a stone
house at the Molson Family and made a conservation area.
An absolute must if you are traveling with children,
they will love it. here, you can run, jump, lumble,
slide or slither down, frontwards or backwards , on
your feet, tummy or back.
Interpretation center: the history of the first
village. The sand skiing club, the sawmill and the dam.
The origins of the sand terrace.
